- 2007: Wednesday 31st October 8 - 10pm Mark will be
sitting in for Lindsay Crawford and featuring Ringo Starr's new cd 'Live At Soundstage'. He'll also be re-playing
most of his interview
with Ringo as well as playing new releases by Robert Plant (ex-Led Zepplin), The
Eagles, Fats Domino, John Fogerty, Alvin Lee & others.
- 2007: Wednesday September 19th, 8 - 10pm on 'Purple Haze' on 88.3
Southern FM, Mark interviewed American 60's pop star Bobby Rydell (http://www.bobbyrydell.com/). They talked
about Bobby's appearance at The Palms at Crown' in Melbourne and about some of Bobby's world wide hits, which
includes 'Wild One', The Cha Cha Cha', 'Swinging School' and'Forget Him'.
Most of the scenes in the movie 'Grease' take place around 'Rydell High' - it was after Bobby that they named
it! Mark will also be spinning some new releases from Burton Cummings ('Jukebox') and Mark Knopfler ('Kill
To Get Crimson' CD).
- 2007: Wednesday 29th. August, 8 -10pm on 88.3 Southern FM, during
Mark's version of 'Purple Haze, Mark interviewed Doug Fieger, lead singer, songwriter and rhythm guitarist
from The Knack. They talked about Doug's inclusion in the current national Australian 'Countdown 2' tour.
- 2007: Tuesday, 19th. June, Mark was interviewed in the studio on
ABC radio, for Derek Guille's show, 10pm, on 774 AM, to talk about his past Beatle related interviews (Ringo
Starr, George Martin, Cynthia Lennon, May Pang, Jeff Lynne, Geoff Emerick, etc). An article subsequently appeared
ont he ABC website and can be viewed here. As the article
states the evening included many collectors and afficionado's "...Mark Copolov, who's spoken to just about
everyone who's had anything to do with The Beatles, phoned up his friend Richard Lush who just happened to
be at work at Abbey Road when we rang, putting the finishing touches to a Sergeant Pepper's tribute...".
- 2007: Saturday June 2nd. (7 - 9pm), Mark was interviewed on 2WCR
FM 99.5 in Coonabarabran, NSW by Rolls Sousa on his show 'Timewarp' to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the
release of the classic Beatle's album 'Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band'. Mark explained the story behind
every track.
Associated trivia: Coonabarabran is home to Australia's largest optical telescope being the "eyes" equivalent
to the "ears" radio telescope in Parkes, NSW which featured in the film "The Dish".
- 2007: Wednesday 30th May (8 - 10pm) on his show, 'Purple Haze'
on 88.3 Southern FM, Mark did a pre-release review of Paul McCartney's 21st. solo album, 'Memory Almost Full'.
Mark reviewed about 90% of the CD, summarizing it by saying that he thought it sounded like a combination of
two of Paul's past albums, 'Chaos & Creation In The Backyard' (his last cd) and the Wings album 'Back To The
Egg' .
