Jack Rose was a Hollywood screenwriter who wrote movies such as A Touch Of Class, The Five Pennies, Houseboat and many others. Mark found him to be a very quiet and humble man.

The photograph was taken in Los Angeles in January 1974. They met through Mark's step-father, Sydney Goldman.
