David is the lead singer & songwriter of Bread. He wrote 'If', 'Make It With You' and many other classic ballads. Mark and his wife Rachel met David backstage at the Bread concert at The Palais, Melbourne, 2.12.1998.

Mark has always been in a quandry trying to decide who the "world's best all time ballad singer" is : David Gates or Paul McCartney?!
